ZUMBRO FALLS, Minn. (KTTC) – A new food shelf is on its way to the Zumbro Falls area.
The South Troy Wesleyan Church opened up a new addition, providing them with extra space, and the ability to stock a food shelf.
It’s a big step for the church that recently reopened its doors after being vacant for 10 years.
In addition to being able to store food, the church now has more room for its growing congregation of kids.
South Troy Wesleyan Church Pastor Colleen Hoeft says it’s a blessing for their church to meet this need in their community,
“That’s been a passion of ours, to help feed people, and to just be available, because I know it’s hard when some of the other areas can’t do that. It makes them excited too, because we’re part of their community and that was our goal. We didn’t want to be just a church, we wanted to be part of their community and support them.”
Hoeft says the food shelf should officially be open a couple days each week, starting in mid-January, for anyone in the community needing food.
