WINONA, Minn. (KTTC) – It’s starting to feel a lot like Christmas in Winona.
The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train made its way through town.
Close to a thousand people gathered around as the train made its stop and The Trews with Willy Porter rocked out with Christmas spirit.
At each stop, the train helps raise money for local food banks, while some organizations help gather food donations.
“This is probably the largest crowd that I remember actually being here. As you can see the trailer is completely full, it’s deep, it’s tall. So we will hopefully be able to stock the food shelf, so no one goes hungry this winter and really the generosity of the community is truly overwhelming,” said Jen Welch, Merchants Bank 10 Days of Giving Co-Chair.
The Holiday Train made its first Minnesota stop in La Crescent on Wednesday, before picking back up Saturday.
The train made stops in Winona and Wabasha, before making its way to the Twin Cities.
