Iowa woman cannot get her seized animals back

NORTHWOOD, Iowa (KWWL) – A woman will not get her animals back after being accused of animal neglect.

65-year-old Barbara Kavars asked the Worth County Court to allow her to keep 13 animals, which includes nine dogs and four cats. She asked to keep 13 of the 154 animals that were taken from her property in November. Most of those animals are samoyed dogs.

That request has been denied, court documents saying the animals were “threatened.”

Many of the rescued dogs were given to shelter partners with the ASPCA.
