NEAR ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – Authorities are asking the public to be on the lookout after a homeowner said a suspicious man snooped around her house.

The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office said the incident happened around 2:45 Thursday afternoon on the 3400 Block of Hidden Hills Lane NE.

A 64-year-old woman said the man rang her door bell after snooping around. She told officials that she did not answer her door, and the man soon drove off.

The woman’s husband was returning home when he reportedly briefly talking with the suspect as they met in the driveway.

He claimed the suspect was looking to meet someone to buy a bike off of Craigslist.

He was driving a Black Toyota RAV 4, which is a car that was reported stolen out of St. Paul earlier in the week. Deputies believe the man is looking to burglarize a home for that reason.

The car has a Minnesota plate: ACR060.

The suspect is described as a black man in his 20s or 30s. He was seen as about six feet tall with an average build.

Anyone who sees the vehicle is urged to call 911.
