The partial government shutdown is impacting the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP program), also known as the food support program. Counties have been asked by the state of Minnesota to issue February food benefits early.
To do so, Olmsted County Family Support and Assistance, located at 2117 Campus Drive Southeast in Rochester, will be open on Saturday, January 12 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Sunday, January 13 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
During this time, Olmsted County staff will process applications, renewals, and other paperwork needed to determine February SNAP benefits. No other services will be available during this time.
It is critical that individuals and families who need to apply or renew their SNAP application contact Olmsted County Family Support and Assistance. Those coming to the 2117 Campus Drive SE building should bring accurate documents of income, shelter, and asset information, along with personal identification, to assure staff members are able to successfully process food support benefits.
Olmsted County call center will also be open this during the operational hours listed above: (507) 328-6500. You’re asked to call with any questions regarding SNAP benefits.
