Diamond Jo Casino plans to offer sports betting

NORTHWOOD, Iowa (KTTC) –  A north Iowa casino plans to start offering sports betting as soon as it can.

Diamond Jo Casino in Northwood says it plans to incorporate sports betting now that it’s been legalized in the state.

Governor Kim Reynolds signed a bill into law Monday that will allow betting on professional, collegiate, and international sports.

A representative for Diamond Jo’s parent company, Boyd Gaming, says details are still being worked out, including how soon it will start, as a lot depends on the betting policies that the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission is now tasked with creating.
