Byron parking lot scare has authorities looking for unknown driver

BYRON, Minn. (KTTC) – Deputies are trying to figure out what happened early Tuesday morning at the Byron Middle School parking lot.

The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office says a woman was waiting for her running partner to arrive a bit before 5 a.m. when a man in an older red sedan pulled up next to her. She said he leaned over and stared at her, which spooked her.

When she tried to back her car out, she says he blocked her path. She was ready to jump the curb to get out, but he drove off.  Authorities spoke with a witness who saw what happened.

Deputies are looking for a  bearded white man in his 40s or 50s. Investigators are looking into video surveillance from the school.
