Man gets four years in prison following fatal New Year’s Eve crash

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – The man convicted in a deadly head-on crash on New Year’s Eve 2016 is sentenced in the case.

Jordan Wilde, now 22 years old, received a four-year prison term for the crash that killed 60-year-old Daniel Pyfferoen of rural Byron. A judge handed down the ruling in a Rochester courtroom Monday.

After investigating the case, the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office says Wilde crossed the center line on Valleyhigh Road NW that night. At the time of the accident, Wilde reportedly admitted to smoking marijuana prior to getting behind the wheel.

He was convicted of criminal vehicular homicide this April and will now serve his time at Minnesota Correctional Facility – St. Cloud.
