Byron City Council approves pool referendum

BYRON, Minn. (KTTC) – Byron is one step closer to getting a new pool, after the city council approved a referendum for November Tuesday night.

The current pool is very old, and this past season the small pool for children couldn’t open because of infrastructure issues.

Because of this, the community created a seven-member Byron Pool Committee that researched options for both rebuilding and replacing the current pool.

The committee worked with an aquatic company to come up with plans for a new aquatic center at a new location.. which would be three times the size of the current facility.

The proposed aquatic center will have a splash pad, six lane competition pool, an inter tube slide, lazy river and a larger pool house if approved by voters in November.
