CRESCO, Iowa (KTTC) – Brian Fullhart has been found guilty of murder for the February, 2018 killing of his wife Zoe. There was no dispute from the defense that the 35-year-old killed her.

Police said Fullhart shot his wife with a handgun at a mobile home on South Elm Street in Cresco that day. He then instigated a standoff with police that lasted more than five hours.

Fullhart’s defense attorney Matthew Hoffey tried to prove Fullhart was suffering from psychosis at the time of the shooting. The jury didn’t see it that way and found Fullhart guilty of 1st Degree Murder.

He’ll be sentenced at a later date.
