ORONOCO, Minn. (KTTC) – A birds eye of view while you’re racing pretty fast, welcome to drone racing.

MedCity Drones Boss, Ryan Kuisle

MedCity Drones was created two years ago after Ryan Kuisle just wanted to have a good time with his friends.

He says drone racing gives people the opportunity to enjoy racing, but much like everything else, a little competition never hurts. For every lap you complete you get a point, those points qualify you for regional and nationals.

Kuisle says drone racing reminds me of something he saw as a child,

“You know every little kids when they watch Star Wars and they see the pod racers racing through the ravines and everything it’s probably as close as we’re gonna get to that feeling and it’s just a lot of adrenaline and you get fly and it’s just a lot of fun, ” said Kuisle.

In order to fly a drone you will need to purchase insurance prior to flying with the group.

The group meets every first and third Saturday of the month.
