ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) — An assault Monday night in Southwest Rochester lead to an arrest on a 3rd degree assault charge, police said.
Police said 39-year-old Travis Beckjorden was arrested Wednesday evening at his mother’s house in Faribault.
Police said officers found meth in his wallet in jail, and he is now facing drug charges in addition to the assault on Monday.
That incident took place around 9:30 Monday evening on the 100 block of 3rd Street Southwest.
At first, the assault appeared to be a misdemeanor, but when the 23-year-old victim from Oronoco lost consciousness, charges escalated to 3rd degree assault.
Witnesses said that what started out as talking, lead to Beckjorden punching the victim in the neck and face.
The Oronoco man went down, hitting the concrete and losing consciousness.
The victim was transported to the hospital.
Beckjorden was just arrested last Wednesday after he allegedly threatened a former business partner at gun point at a tattoo parlor off Wellner Drive in Northeast Rochester. See our initial coverage here.
He was already facing charges including assault, terroristic threats, stalking with a firearm and drug possession from that incident.
