ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) — A Rochester man faces charges after an alleged altercation with police during a traffic stop, police said.

Police said the driver, 18-year-old Davante Williams, was pulled over for not stopping at a stop sign at 3:50 p.m. in the 100 block of 20th street Southeast.

Police said Williams got out of car after being pulled over and argued with the officer. Police said Williams resisted arrest. Williams’ girlfriend, a 17-year-old Subway employee, walked out of the restaurant by South Broadway, police said. Police added she fought with the officer trying to arrest Williams.

Two officers had minor scrapes to their hands while making arrest, police said. Neither needed medical assistance.

Both suspects face gross misdemeanor obstruction of justice charges, police said. Williams is also facing charges for driving without a license, police said.
