Police: Two seriously injured in Albert Lea two-vehicle crash

ALBERT LEA, Minn. (KTTC) — Police responded to a serious two-vehicle crash on Tuesday in Albert Lea.

The Albert Lea Police Department said the crash happened at the intersection of Main Street East and Prospect Avenue in Albert Lea.

Police said that officers determined that a 2018 Nissan Sentra was eastbound in the westbound lanes of Main Street East when it struck a 2015 Jeep Wrangler traveling westbound.

The driver of the Nissan Sentra, Susanne Lindahl, 57, of Denmark, and passenger Rudi Marker, 58, also of Denmark, were trapped in the vehicle and freed by Albert Lea Fire and Rescue.

Police said they were both transported by Mayo Ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System-Albert Lea with serious injuries.

The driver of the Jeep Wrangler, Emerald Wangen, 22, of Albert Lea, was transported by personal vehicle to MCHS-Albert Lea with minor injuries.

Police said the crash is still under investigation and an update will be provided at a later time.
