Throwback Thursday: Rochester celebrates America’s bicentennial

July 4, 1976, was a particularly special one for Americans since it marked our 200th birthday as a nation.

Shown here are a handful of the thousands of people who came out to watch Rochester’s celebration, which included a two-section parade, picnics, a concert, a play, games and prizes, and – as no 4th of July would be complete without one – a spectacular fireworks display.
