Car grazes little girl walking in a parking lane

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – A child walked away with minor injuries after she was hit by a driver near 6th St. and 5th Ave. SE.

The 8-year-old was walking with her mother down 6th St. around 5:45 p.m. Wednesday.

The 71-year-old driver was heading west on 6th St. in heavy traffic when he grazed the little girl.

Police said there was no indication that the driver was speeding. The driver was not issued a citation.

According to police, the mother said she and her daughter were walking in the parking lane because of the ice on the sidewalk.

Gold Cross Ambulance brought the girl to Mayo Clinic – Saint Marys as a precaution.
