ST. PAUL, Minn. (KTTC) – Groups from both sides of the marijuana legalization debate are taking to the capitol in St. Paul Wednesday.

“Smart Approaches to Marijuana” hosts a news conference Wednesday morning, where they’ll outline reasons why they believe legalizing cannabis is not a smart move.

The pro-legalization Minnesota Cannabis Coalition plans to sit in on the remarks, and then hold its own media conference in the afternoon. The coalition calls attempts to paint marijuana as a dangerous drug a “misinformation campaign.”

Gov. Tim Walz indicated he’d support efforts to legalize cannabis, but said it wasn’t a top priority.
