“Green Book” Captures Best Picture

(NBC News) – “Green Book,” a drama about a road trip through the segregated South of the 1960s, was named Best Picture at the Academy Awards.

“Green Book” also scored Best Original Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor for Mahershala Ali.

Honors for Best Actor went to “Bohemian Rhapsody”‘s Rami Malek for playing “Queen” front man Freddie Mercury.

The night’s big upset came with “The Favourite”‘s Oliva Colman winning Best Actress. She beat out the woman widely seen as the favorite, seven time nominee Glenn Close.

Supporting Actress kudos went to first time nominee Regina King for “If Beale Street Could Talk”.
