Officials respond to house fire in Wasioja

WASIOJA, Minn. (KTTC) – Officials responded to a house fire at a home west of Mantorville in Wasioja.

It caught on fire around 1 p.m. Thursday. The Dodge Center Sheriff’s Department, Fire Department and a Dodge Center Ambulance responded to the scene.

No one was home at the time, but the homeowner drove up while the fire was being contained.

The homeowner asked is anyone had seen her dog, but a sheriff’s deputy responded and said that the pet had not been seen.

The pet’s whereabouts are not known at this time.

Dodge Center firefighters tried several times to get into the home once the flames were knocked down, but the fire was difficult to contain.

Crews were at the scene for nearly two hours.

Once fire crews were able to get inside, they went room-to-room to make sure all of the hot spots were out.

There are no reports of any people injured in the fire.
