ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) — A Rochester man tried to stop a thief from driving off in his pickup truck on Wednesday night, police said.

Police said the 34-year-old man had started up his white, Ford F-350 Pickup truck in Southeast Rochester with his remote starter around 9 p.m. when a man jumped inside and took off.

Police said the owner and his friend tried jumping on the truck to pull the driver out, but he took off, causing the two to fall to the pavement with minor scrapes.

Police said they saw the driver leave from the Holiday Station Store on 4th street Southeast, but did not pursue the vehicle.

Later that day, the owner spotted the truck on 15th avenue by Cub Foods and tried to follow, but police said they told him not to.

The truck has the letters K C written on the roll bar, police said.

The plate number is YBW – 2833.
