I-90 reopens after flooding shutdown

AUSTIN, Minn. (KTTC) — High waters forced the closure of Interstate 90 in Austin Thursday afternoon.

MSP troopers detoured drivers off the interstate for four hours because of the water starting about 3 o’clock.

According to MnDOT, the westbound lanes opened just after 7 p.m. and the eastbound lanes about a half hour later.

MnDOT says crews cleaned and inspected the road for safety before opening it for traffic.
