OLMSTED COUNTY, Minn. (KTTC) — Nine businesses across Olmsted County sold alcohol to minors. That’s what the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office found in a yearly compliance check on alcohol sales.

The Sheriff’s Office checked 30 businesses, all outside of the Rochester city limits.

Four of the nine businesses that failed the compliance checks are from Byron. The Sheriff’s Office reports Kwik Spirits Liquors, Frank N’ Stein Bar, The Tilted Tavern, and Somerby Golf Course all sold alcohol to minors.

Buddy’s Liquor in Eyota, Neighbor’s Bar and Pub in Dover, and Shar’s Country Place in Marion failed the checks.

Two businesses in Stewartville — Kwik Trip North and Strikers Lounge — also did not pass.

Authorities will now decide whether to charge each business with one gross misdemeanor count of Furnishing Liquor to a Person Under the age of 21.
