Mother and child injured when tire flew off moving vehicle

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – A tire that came off a vehicle and rolled down a hill struck a mother and her 3 year-old daughter in Rochester late Saturday morning.

57-year-old Douglas Lee was driving his Chevy Tahoe westbound on 37th Street Northeast around 11:20 a.m.
When he crossed the intersection of 37th Street and Broadway Avenue, his tire suddenly popped off and rolled down the hill.

A 27-year-old woman and her daughter were standing outside of Rochester Auto Care when the tire struck them and their 2017 Lexus.

The daughter suffered an abrasion on her forehead and the woman had an abrasion to her right arm. They both later went to the hospital.

Lee was not cited after the incident.
