Second floor of Rochester Public Library reopens Tuesday

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – The second floor of the Rochester Public Library is set to reopen Tuesday morning –  exactly a month after a water leak caused major damage.

In the past week, crews spent time moving furniture back into place while still leaving room to repair still damaged areas.

The second floor is home to a large non-fiction selection and private rooms, making it a heavily used area of the library.

“As a staff, we decided reopening at least part of the second floor needed to be a priority,” Library Director Audrey Betcher said.

Even though the second floor will reopen Tuesday, some services – like test proctoring, Digital Drop-In, and Convert-O-Lab will not be available.

Some of the events originally scheduled at the library in October and November have been moved to offsite locations such as the Mayo Civic Center, Rochester Art Center and Quarry Hill Nature Center. A full list of activities and events can be found here.
