Roy Williams Makes In-Home Visit with Matthew Hurt

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – Matthew Hurt had a special visitor here in Rochester this morning, as North Carolina head coach Roy Williams was here in town to visit the John Marshall star.

Hurt took an official visit to North Carolina back on December 15th. He’s also already visited Kentucky and Duke and has a visit scheduled with the University of Kansas on February 2nd.

The 6-9 forward currently leads the state of Minnesota in scoring — averaging 35.7 points-per-game, to go along with 11.4 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 2.4 steals and 2 blocks per game.

He was named one of 24 McDonald’s All-Americans last week, and is the all-time leading scorer in state history at big schools. He also passed the 3,000 point bench mark on December 28th.

He is not expected to stay home and play at the University of Minnesota, where his older brother Michael is on the team.
