Saturday features mainly sunny skies, a light, southerly breeze and perhaps one of our warmest days so far for 2019! With high pressure overhead, look for temperatures on Saturday to peak into the lower 70s. Temperatures may actually be warmer for Easter Sunday as high temperatures climb into the mid to upper 70s as a cold front slowly moves across central Minnesota. Showers and a few thunderstorms are expected to form along or just behind this cold front so our chance for rain on Sunday will depend on the location of this front. Right now, it looks like this cold front may not arrive until Sunday evening which means the chance for showers and thunderstorms should hold off until Sunday evening or Sunday night.
We’ll see a better chance for showers and thunderstorms heading into Monday as the cold front stalls out overhead with high temperatures falling back into the upper 50s. While we will see the threat for thunderstorms from Sunday evening through Monday, the threat for severe weather should remain low. Temperatures rebound back into the 60s and 70s by the middle of next week.
